Neuropsychologists believe that talking about your feelings have science-backed perks. Many psychologists and studies have found that giving words to our emotions reduces activation in the amygdala, which is our brain's fight-or-flight response mechanism. Thus, a less activated amygdala means less emotional reactivity and more mindfulness. When you bring your emotions to the front of your brain, the part that deals with speech and language, you can begin to process your feelings and it’s much easier to do this with strangers.
